QuteMol running on my PC

I have done some 3d images of Molecules that sometimes have been appreciated. So here is a small guide for replicating my work.
(Thanks to User:Benjah-bmm27 for its inspiring guide that i shamelessly copied)
That'my recipe:

  • Download the latest version of QuteMol, currently (sep 2006) binaries are only for win but linux and mac version are planned.
  • Install the program; note that it requires a fairly new graphics card, and it is affected by some bugs of the graphics drivers so check the troubleshooting page
  • Download and open an the .pdb version of the molecule that you want to draw.
  • Choose the kind of representation you prefers in the Geometry tab
  • Press the Realistic 1 button, change background to white, add a little of border
  • Save as a PNG and upload to the Commons

If this is insufficient information to get you going, just let me know and I'll do my best to improve this guide.

Have fun making molecules!
