About Me[edit]

I am Aakriti Gupta and I am pursuing B.A.History(hons) from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University. I have worked under the UGC project titled "Delhi:A City as text". And for the past four months I have been working in the Volunteer Guide Programme at the prestigious National Museum at New Delhi. Its a progamme to help the regular citizen to know about the artefacts showcased in the museum through the volunteers.I am here to learn and enhance my interactive skills and broaden my spectrum of knowledge. As a member of Volunteer Guide Programme I have acquired some knowledge regarding the artefacts exhibited in the museum which i would love to share with the wikipedia users.

I believe that "You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching" cause dancing is my passion and I have learnt Contemporary Dancing from Shiamak Davar for sometime. But mainly my ineterest lies in history and being a history student its intriguing to know what happened in the past which led to the present and will lead to the future.

I want to do a course from the University Of Amsterdam about Holocaust and Genocide studies as this sensitive issue arouses my interest to some different level which forces me to go and learn about it further and get a first hand knowledge about it and make a difference in the society through that.

I have always lived with a dream to work with Discovery Channel one day because its really fascinating to see people with so much knowledge in them relating to different fields and the way they showcase it on this channel to a zillion people.

My to do list[edit]

This list show the things I want do,learn and visit.

I want to visit as many exotic beaches as I can including this one Kapu Beach

Music I love[edit]

Movies I recommend[edit]

I love watching movies be it excruciating Schindler's List, heart tormenting Blue Valentine or chucklesome Bruce Almighty.

Wikipedia wish-list[edit]

Being a history student i would love to add information in the field of history and as we dont find much information about Indian history on wikipedia I will try to gather as much information in this area as I can and share it with wikipedia users. And being a member of National Museum will try to improve its page on wikipedia through my experience and knowledge. Would try to create pages for North-Indian history as not much has been written about and in order to create awareness among people for the same.
