Abraham Coapman was one of two men who were in charge of the construction of Fort Plank in Minden Township, Montgomery County, New york and commanded some of my ancestors in the Revolutionary War,

I have devoted myself to preserving the history of Fort Plank and the families in the surrounding area. My interest is primary 1710-1785, but I do dabble in more recent history were applicable.

Of particular interest is the Life & Times of Johan Jost Haus (angelicized to Joseph House), who served as First Lieutenant of Captain Abraham Coapman's Company of the Canajoharie District Regiment of Tryon County Militia (1775); as Second Lieutenant in Captain Jacob W. Seeber's Company of the Fourth New York Regiment (1776); as Assistant Deputy Commissary of Issues (1778)as First Lieutenant of Captain Abraham Coapman's Company of the Canajoharie District Regiment of Tryon County Militia (1778-80); as Captain of the former Company of Abraham Coapman [Coapman having been promoted to major] (1780-4); and as Second Major of the Canajoharie District Regiment of Montgomery County Militia (1784-1802).
