The Spring Grove Experiment[edit]

The Spring Grove Experiment was a part of a thirty-year effort to determine the effects of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) as a psychiatric tool. The experiment began in 1963 at Spring Grove State Hospital, a psychiatric hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and was federally funded by the National Institute of Mental Health.
