Adede Owalla is a Kenyan writer, Author,content creator and a teacher of English & literature. He was born on 13th January 1986 in West Kano, Kisumu County ( formerly Nyanza region) in the Republic of Kenya. Adede is a fourth born in a family of eight children ( two girls and six boys), but five lost their lives; four between one and seven years and the elder one at age 23.
His father,The late George Owalla Adede was a renowned Music teacher who taught in several schools, starting as a P1 teacher and progressing to teach and train music in high school and colleges. He died in 2004. His mother Ruth Obiero was the daughter of the third Catechist of Our lady of perpetual help Ahero Catholic Parish Vitalis Owira.she was a business woman and a farmer remembered as the first person to take yam tubers and plant it in Nduru village. Before that, no one had grown yams in the area.
Adede attended Nyamrundu Primary School in Nduru village, an area popularly known as Amboo (1993-1995 and later 1998-2001) , Chemelil Factory Primary School in Muhoroni Sub County (1996-1997) and Pope Pius XII (1997) He then proceeded to Thurdibuoro Secondary School in Nyakach, near the famous Nyabondo plateau (2002-2003) and later transfered to Otieno Oyoo High School after the death of his parents (2004-2006) where he did his KCSE.
Adede studied Project Management (Kenya Institute of Management); Education,Arts ( Egerton University, Laikipia Campus - currently Laikipia University) ; Monitoring, Evaluation Accountability and Learning -MEAL (AMREF Health training college) He has also been a Mama Hope East African Global Advocates fellow (EAGA class of 2017) and greatly participated in fundraising for Kisumu Children Rescue Centre (CRC) Academy.
He has authored three published titles, Morgue of Drunken Thoughts (Poetry collection), My Husband and I (Novel-Fiction) and Sigand Kano, a detailed history of a Luo sub clan called Kano. Adede is also an online translator, google Luo language feeder, grant writer, academic writer and does commentaries on arts and music in local newspapers. He runs a dholuo online radio station called Afwong'o Radio which aims to revolutionize vernacular broadcasting in Kenya and East Africa.
