From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Croatian hip hop usually refers to the hip hop (also known as rap) music produced in Croatia, usually in Croatian language. It was first popularized in Croatia by Ugly Leaders and The Beat Fleet, whose albums made their way mostly to public in the coastal areas of Croatian Littoral and Dalmatia. This was promptly followed by bands from the Croatian capital Zagreb like Bolesna Braća or Tram 11, taking their inspiration from the American gangsta rap, which was gaining popularity at the time. The today's Croatian hip hop scene includes rappers from smaller cities, like Shorty, although its center firmly remains in Zagreb, backed by Elemental, Stoka, Edo Maajka and others.
