'Advaitam' derives from the sanskrit word अद्वैत ‎(ádvaita, “not dual”) which means absolute oneness, one without a second of its kind. The title of the fest has been selected so as to convey the unique and exclusive appeal of the fest.

'Moksha', the former cultural fest, is a term derived from Hinduism and Hindu philosophy which refers to various forms of emancipation or liberation.
