Catharine Henderson (18 August 1850 - 10 September 1911) was a Scottish painter. She was one of the founder members of the Glasgow Society of Lady Artists.

Life[edit]

Her father was Andrew Henderson (4 September 1802 - 18 July 1862), an East India merchant from Bo'ness.

Her mother was Margaret King (16 July 1814 - 24 April 1877) from Montrose. Andrew and Margaret married on 13 February 1844.

Catharine Henderson was born on 18 August 1850 in Rothesay.[1]

The family quickly move to Glasgow and in the 1851 census they are found at 1 India Street. At the next census of 1861 they are found at 7 Lynedoch Street.

They then move to 17 Belhaven Terrace and this becomes Catharine's home for the rest of her life.
