Janetta Susan Gillespie (1 May 1876 - 10 October 1956) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life[edit]

Her father was William Peter Gillespie (31 March 1841 - 2 July 1904), a teacher from Falkirk.

Her mother was Isabella Thomson (c. 1842 - 9 May 1921) from Paisley. William and Isabella married on 23 January 1868 at Paisley Abbey.

Janetta Susan Gillespie was born 1 May 1876 in the schoolhouse at Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire.

Another two siblings in the family became artists: Floris Mary Gillespie and Alexander Bryson Gillespie.

She died on 10 October 1956 at Rosarnach, Larbert Road, Bonnybridge.
