John Hamilton Glass (28 December 1864 - 10 April 1940) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life[edit]

His father was James Glass (born c. 1820), a hand loom weaver from Clackmannan.

His mother was Agnes Hamilton (c. 1823 - 27 February 1874) from Hamilton.

John Hamilton Glass was born on 28 December 1864 in Hamilton.

He married Phoebe Morris Williams (c. 1866 - 1919) from England, on 25 March 1887 in Motherwell.

He married Jean Marshall (born c. 1877) from Edinburgh, in 1920 in Edinburgh.

Death[edit]

He died on 10 April 1940 at Westfield Park, Dalkeith. He died of cardiac failure.[3][4] His usual address was West Holmes Gardens, Musselburgh.
