His father was the artist James Gordon [Snr.] (born c. 1791).[3]
His mother was Barbara.[4]
James Gordon was born c.1816[5][6]
He married Ann (born abt 1826), a music teacher. [poss marriage 28 March 1854]

He died on 18 July 1867 in London, England.[7]
