Colin Graeme, or with birth name Colin Graeme Roe, (25 December 1855 - 17 June 1910) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life[edit]

His father was Robert Henry Roe (c. 1822 - 22 October 1905), an artist from Cambridgeshire.

His mother was Emma Hodges Baily (c. 1823 - c. 1901). Robert and Emma married on 25 July 1848 in St. Pancreas, London.

Robert and Emma stayed at various locations in Scotland and England throughout their life.

Some of their early family were born in Cambridgeshire, Birmingham and London.

Colin Graeme Roe was born in Dunoon, Argyll on 25 December 1855. His two sisters Rosa Mary Emma Stanhope Roe and Eva Constance Emily Roe were later born in Glasgow. Afterwards the later family were born in Yorkshire.

Colin had a falling out with his family and then ceased to use the Roe name.[3]

Death[edit]

He died on 17 June 1910 at his home at Allestree House, Chesterfield Road, Sheffield. He was buried on 21 June 1910 at Norton Cemetery, Sheffield.[4]
