Her father was Matthew Langlands Edward (2 June 1844 - 8 April 1880) from Glasgow.
Her mother was Mary Ebenezer McCallum (c. 1849 - 1922). Matthew and Mary married in 1869 in Glasgow.
Margaret Wills Edward was born in Anderston, Glasgow on 10 March 1870.
She married James Donald in Kelvin, Glasgow in 1899.
