George Miller Grieg (6 July 1821 - 3 May 1867) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life[edit]

His father was John Greig (17 March 1772 - 3 September 1843), a blacksmith from Dalkeith.

His mother was Catherine Cation (16 April 1786 - 7 December 1847) from Abbotshall in Fife. John and Catherine married on 30 December 1803 in Abbotshall.

George Miller Greig was born on 6 July 1821 in Edinburgh.

Death[edit]

He died on 3 May 1867 at his home in Charlotte Street, Edinburgh.[3] He was buried in Warriston cemetery in Edinburgh on 8 May 1867.
