George Roland Halkett (11 March 1854 - 4 December 1918) was a Scottish illustrator and art critic.[1][2]

Life[edit]

His father was Samuel Halkett (21 June 1814 - 20 April 1871) from Edinburgh. He was the principal librarian to the Faculty Of Advocates.

His mother was Caroline Sophia Roland (21 December 1823 - 20 February 1883) from Edinburgh. Samuel and Caroline married on 9 April 1850 in Edinburgh.

George Roland Halkett was born on 11 March 1854 in Edinburgh. His elder sisters Caroline and Ellen were born in 1851 and 1852 brother Charles Samuel was born in 1855.

He married Lucy Marion Lees (1867 - 29 July 1966) from Oldham.

His death was on 4 December 1918 in London, England. His estate was £179, 4 shillings and 7 pence.
