Thomas Marjoribanks Hay (13 September 1861 - 29 October 1921) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life

His father was James Smart Hay (born c.1829 - 1 June 1887), a die and stamp cutler from Morningside, Edinburgh.[3][4]

His mother was Mary Smith (born c. 1829) from Edinburgh. James Smart Hay and Mary married on 1 July 1855 in Edinburgh. This was Mary's second marriage.

Thomas Majoribanks Hay was born on 13 September 1861 in Queen St, Edinburgh.[5]

In 1901 he was staying with his brother James Hay (19 December 1856 - 14 April 1927), another artist.[9][10]

Death

He died on 29 October 1921 at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh.[11] He had a studio at Castle Terrace, Edinburgh. His brother James was the executor to his will. His estate was valued at £90, 2 shillings, and 1 penny.
