John Irvine (5 June 1805 - 22 June 1888) was a Scottish painter.

Life

His father was William Irvine (c. 1770 - 1815).

His mother was Grizel Clark (c. 1771 - 25 November 1856). William and Grizel married on 18 February 1801 in Lerwick in Shetland.

John Irvine was born in Lerwick in Shetland on 5 June 1805.

He married Jessie Leisk (1805 - 1 October 1878) from Sandsting in west Shetland mainland. They married on 13 September 1836 in Northmavine in northwest Shetland mainland.
