Peter Kerr (6 October 1857 - 2 January 1940) was a Scottish painter.^[1]^[2]

Life

His father was James Kerr (22 March 1816 - 9 March 1907) from Kilmodan in Cowal, Argyll.

His mother was Mary Cameron (30 March 1824 - 22 May 1860) from Shelfield in Kilmodan.

Peter Kerr was born on 6 October 1857 in Greenock.

He married Kate Macmillan (14 June 1862 - 3 August 1933) from Helensburgh. They married on 12 July 1887 in Helensburgh.

Kate was the daughter of artist Hamilton Macmillan (3 November 1835 - 12 June 1905) and sister of the artist Hamilton Macmillan Jnr.(3 May 1864 - 1 July 1916).
