William Lawson (1801 - 8 February 1891) was a Scottish painter.
Life
[edit]William was born in 1801 in Dundee.
He married Elizabeth Ruth Stones (c.1820 - 1894) from Wellington in Shropshire, England.
His son David Arthur Lawson was born in Edinburgh, but afterwards the family moved to Wellington and the rest of their children were born in England. His sons include the artists Francis Wilfred Lawson and Cecil Gordon Lawson.
