Ahmad Muto

Ahmad Muto (Born 1989) is a published Ugandan Writer, Television producer and content photographer who kicked off his career in his teens contributing to Vision Group's print product, SWaGG Magazine targeting the teen audience with a pullout in the media house's flagship print product, the New Vision, that was born in 1986.

In 2015, he started writing in earnest extending his frontiers of content generation to science & technology, lifestyle & entertainment, plus motoring.

Early life and Education

Muto was born in Bombo, Luweero District in central Uganda to Khalil Ibrahim Turyamureeba and Zabib Umar. He attended Happy Hours Nursery School, Bombo, Uganda, Bombo UMEA Primary School and The Army School, Bombo for his secondary education. He attained a Diploma in Business Studies, Accounting from the Uganda College of Commerce (UCC), Pakwach in 2013.

Career

Muto started off contributing to New Vision's SWaGG that was a product written for teens by teens. After honing his craft, he extended to Saturday Vision and Sunday Vision that were weekend versions of the New Vision. In there he wrote about social issues, celebrities, technology, innovation, and motoring.

In 2016, he started contributing to The Kampala Sun, also a product of Vision Group targeting the party loving section of the population and public figures under the tagline, "You can't read it alone."

In 2017, Muto co-hosted shows on XFM (The Shuffle, & The Xzit) where he made topical contributions on trending technology and entertainment topics.

In 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, he did script writing and co-produced Urban Television's E-News; a 30-minute show that covered trending entertainment stories with an urban touch.He was also part of the production team of weekend night music shows of Transnight and Fulldoze that aired on both Urban TV and Bukedde TV as a content photographer. The photos some weekends got the two shows organically trending at number one on social media.
