Confirming identity[edit]

  1. Ask the user to send an e-mail to info-en@wikimedia.org.
  2. Once the identity is confirmed through OTRS ticket, place {{OTRS identity}} on their user page along with the ticket number.

CheckUser blocks[edit]

  3. Unblocks can be granted if a community consensus can be reached.

Range blocks[edit]

  2. Before CheckUser has been done, place {{Sockpuppet}} on the suspected user page.
  3. Once the account has been confirmed by CheckUser, replace with {{Checked sockpuppet|USERNAME|SPI request subpage title}} on the user page. Alternative tagging methods are listed below.
  4. If there is no further action required, change the {{SPI case status}} parameter to close to request case closure by the clerk.
  5. Consider importing mass rollback to your common.js if the editor is making mass changes to different pages.
  6. Check back to see if it develops into long-term abuse.
