Basic procedure

Editors who wish that I step down as an administrator must add their name, current date, userrights group, and a valid reason to the section entitled "Petition".

If six editors and three administrators sign the petition within one week, I will resign as an administrator. At that point, it will be my decision whether or not to re-gain adminship through another RfA.

Questions about this process may either be posted to User talk:AlexiusHoratius or User talk:AlexiusHoratius/Recall.

Rules

  1. All editors must have at least 1,000 edits prior to signing the petition. Editors who do not will be removed from the petition.
  2. Only registered accounts may sign the petition. (In other words, no IPs.)
  3. All editors must have been active for at least one month prior to signing the petition. Editors have not been active for this long will be removed from the petition.
  4. Only administrators on the English Wikipedia count as administrators in this process. Administrators must not currently be under sanctions of any kind from Arbcom.
  5. "Higher" userright groups, such as bureaucrats, checkusers, oversighters, stewards, and current members of the Arbitration Committee count as administrators in this process.
  6. Signatures added to the petition are only valid for one week. So long as the 6 editor/3 admin threshold has not been met, signatures older than one week will be removed.
  7. No double jeopardy. No single user may sign the petition more than once per reason they have given.
  8. Only signatures accompanied with valid reasons will be honored. Valid reasons for requesting recall include improper use of the administrative tools, as well as serious behavior unbecoming an administrator, such as gross incivility or dishonesty. Signatures added without any reason, signatures added for obviously frivolous or trivial reasons, and signatures added with reasons solely related to a simple content dispute will all be removed.
  9. One signature per user. A user may not sign the petition more than once in any seven-day period.
  10. I will not change the 6 editor/3 admin/1 week standard. However, I do reserve the right to make minor changes and to add rules in an attempt to close any major loophole not in keeping with the general standards behind this recall process which may appear in the future.
  11. If, at some point in the future, the English Wikipedia adopts some form of mandatory recall for administrators, this process will become null and void.

Appeal to good faith

I fully intend to honor this process, and I will not try to wikilawyer my way out of a valid recall. I expect the same good faith courtesy in return. In other words, please don't play legalistic games involving loopholes which may exist in the process noted above.
