Ali Kamil is currently a graduate student at MIT (SM) and Harvard Kennedy School (MPA). He is the founder of crowdSOS, a big data analytics startup that aims to democratize safety and security in highly volatile urban environments in the developing world.

Ali's expertise lie in employing big data, social computing, and system dynamics–based simulation tools to identify patterns in human behavior, connectivity, and activities in low-resource settings - developing and emerging markets. He is a member of the MIT Media Lab's Human Dynamics group directed by Professor Alex "Sandy" Pentland. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science and economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
