75th Anniversary of the Great Victory - the anniversary date of the victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

2020 is marked with the 75th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War and the victory over fascism. In many countries of the world, it was planned to hold large-scale public events in connection with the anniversary. A particularly widespread celebration was planned in the Russian Federation and a number of CIS countries. The culmination of the celebrations should have been a military parade, a march of an immortal regiment and a fireworks display on Victory Day on May 9, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, significant changes have been made to the celebrations. The military parade on Red Square was held on June 24, the procession of the immortal regiment was scheduled for July 26, 2020, but due to the epidemic situation it was postponed indefinitely. On June 19, 2020, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin published an article "75 years of the Great Victory: shared responsibility to history and the future." Based on historical facts and archival documents, he analyzed the reasons of the start of the war, emphasized the decisive role of the USSR in defeating Nazism, and also reflected on pride, truth and memories.[1] '
