Jonathan Xerxes Cote is a city councilor serving the City of New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada.[1]

Councilor Jonathan X. Cote was elected on November 19th, 2005[2] and is currently serving his first term on Council.

Jonathan was born in the City of New Westminster and resides in the city with his wife Alix and their daughter Renee Sarah Cote. Before being elected to Council, Cote attended Simon Fraser University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. His undergraduate education focused primarily on History and Political Science, but also included Economics and Urban Planning[3].

Since being elected, Councilor Cote has been a strong advocate for bringing the concepts of sustainability, affordability and liveability to the Council table. Cote has served on the city's Environment Committee, Youth Advisory Committee, Museum & Archives Committee, Bicycle & Pedestrian Committee and the Energy Management Committee.

In his spare time, Councilor Cote enjoys curling, hiking and playing tennis.
