From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A product or service (eg. iCloud, Sony NW-A810) is considered notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.

What to look for[edit]

A product or service is presumed to be notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable sources or if it meets one of the following criteria

  1. Is significantly and purposefully mentioned in at least 2 reliable published works (not directories)
  2. Has a unique or rare feature that can be verified by a reliable source.
  3. Is historically significant (eg. oldest soft drink brand in Europe, first toothpaste to use fluoride, First commercial internet service provider)

Note that a specific product or service may be notable on its own, without the company providing it being notable in its own right.

What not to do[edit]

Wikipedia is not a directory. Avoid mass creation of multiple product stubs. If found to be non-notable they will either be merged into and article of broader scope or deleted.
