Joe Biden Sr. prospered during World War II when an uncle gave him a job in his lucrative manufacturing company that provided sealant for merchant marine ships.[1] Biden departed Scranton to oversee operations at the Boston office, embracing a lavish lifestyle filled with fast cars, hunting excursions, and frequent visits to the polo fields. However, following the war, his circumstances took a downturn, leaving Joe Sr. feeling lost and uncertain. In 1953, Joe Sr. secured a position selling cars in Wilmington, Delaware, prompting the family to relocate to an apartment in the suburban area of Claymont. Biden was described as a resilient youngster from a blue-collar Irish Catholic family.
