Andrea Marie Thompson [1] is the former USA Abroad columnist for USA Today,a reporter for Women's Wear Daily and a writer for Budget Travel, Marie Claire and Ocean Drive magazines. She has written profiles of actors including Danny Glover; travel pieces that cover everything from a fully functioning restaurant in a Tuscan high security prison to traveling solo in Iceland; a 4,000-word health article on illlnesses that afflict women under 30 and dozens of fashion articles for Women's Wear Daily. She is a former entertainment reporter with the CBS affiliate, WFOR-TV in Miami and a producer with News 12 Long Island and other news stations.

Thompson is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. She is currently the president of Glamour Quotient Communications and the editor-in-chief of Glamour Quotient magazine [2] and blog [3]. Glamour Quotient TV network is planned in the near future. She is also working on a book and a screenplay.

Thompson is a former senior internal and external Corporate Communications director and media relations professional. Thompson’s public relations efforts have garnered coverage for employers and agency clients on Good Morning America, CNN, ABC World News, CNBC, Newsweek, Money magazine and other major media outlets. She has managed, written and/or edited 100% of outgoing internal and external written corporate documents including press releases, management bios, website content, speeches/speaking points and announcements.

As a senior communications manager for Isaac Daniel LLC, makers of Compass, the world’s first GPS-enabled footwear, Thompson’s efforts led to the Compass sneaker being featured in over 800 media channels worldwide including Newsweek, MSNBC, CNN’s Anderson Cooper nightly program, CBS’ The Early Show, the Associated Press, several European newspapers and other major press outlets.

Previously, Thompson was the public relations manager for billion-dollar beauty behemoth, L’Oreal USA, working on the company’s corporate communications team to highlight its employee and philanthropic achievements.

Working for the United States Census Bureau as a media relations manager – before joining L’Oreal - was one of Thompson’s most rewarding career achievements as she was part of a national group of public relations professionals who worked to publicize the 2000 Census ensuring that disenfranchised groups such as migrants, immigrants and low-income minorities would be motivated to partake in one of the country’s most important Census surveys.

Andrea Marie Thompson received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College in Northampton, MA.
