Coffee[edit]

Favourite topic is coffee see [1] I would like to think over the years i have learnt a little about the coffee trade and relevant equipment. With the increase in popularity of espresso coffee not only have the high street's benefited but also the manufacturers of home machines. In the main these are useless - some are cheap, others are expensive and still useless. Whats the problem with them? Well the original designer of the modern espresso machine, Snr Bezzera, there is still a manufacturer of that name, discovered that espresso coffee is best made at a pressure of 9 bar [ about 120lbs per square inch] Domestic machines are fitted with a vibration pump set to run at 15 bar. So what i hear you ask? Well the problem is that coffee, as well as having fine acid flavour from the inherent oil in the bean also has some unpleasant ones and these are extracted at the higher pressure. This is the main reason why a home espresso coffee produces asuch a poor coffee!--Andrewporter123 13:12, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
