From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Footballers should agree a number of constraints in order to be included in noted players sections in club articles.

Issue #1: Many of the world clubs do not award their players according to their performances.
Issue #2: A player with international appearances during his stay at the club is likely to be notable only in case the club itself is a small one. Bigger teams have many of their players being capped at least once.

Draft

[edit]

In order of importance:

  1. Individual record owners should be included in any case, as well as players who won individual prizes (in a domestic, continental or worldwide basis) or a FIFA World Cup during their tenure at the club.
  2. Players with a very considerable number of appearances with the club (not less than 150/175).
  3. Players with a very considerable number of appearances with the club (not less than 50/60).
  4. Players who do not fit to any of the points before, are part of the club history for some well-sourced, well-documented and verifiable reason (i.e. Jerzy Dudek at Liverpool F.C.).
  5. Minor teams should include players who had considerable success in their earlier or later career, at least nationwide in a top-flight team.

In any case these lists should be left as short as possible (no more than 30-40 players).
