I am interested in enhancing articles about BIPOC scientists.  I participate in wiki-a-thons hosted by Longmermaidhair with GenomeFan92, Multi-tasker-ak, Mantisshrimp16, and Slavetothecat.

I have worked in the field of Bioinformatics, specifically visualization of genomic data, cross-species alignments, and variant analysis (mostly with data from humans and other vertebrate species, as of mid-2020 with SARS-CoV-2 data) since 2002. Before that, I designed logic circuits for video and networking chips in Silicon Valley for several years. Before that, I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science with a bit of electrical engineering. "Micro" because I dwell in the details, and appreciate others' help with seeing the big picture. I grew up in various places around the United States, mostly in or near Dayton, Ohio. I have lived and worked in California since my summer internships in college. Pronouns are she/her.
