Sophia Caralde is a Filipina environmentalist who is the head of the Education and Research Committee of student environmental activism group Youth Strike 4 Climate Philippines. She called for the government to recognize the role of youth in addressing climate change, saying that the youth of the Philippines were willing to work with their government towards climate justice.[1]
In solidarity with youth movements inspired by climate activist Greta Thunberg around the world, her organization forwarded the Youth Declaration for Climate Justice in September 2020, holding a press conference on the 23rd.[2]
She called on young professionals to continue their activism into their careers.[3]
