CSD Test one

[edit]

Sandy, Texas is one of the smallest towns in the world. The total population is one.[1]

EARLY HISTORY In 1872, Sandy was settled, and a post office was granted by the US. Government. Sandy was a school location for Hickory, and other areas, but eventually the school was consolidated into the school district at Johnson City.

Sandy's population has never been over 30 people. Today, one man lives there, and his name is Sandy Texas.

  • If no CSD: AFD?
    • No

    • I could swear I read somewhere that places like towns and cities are notable simply for existing. I've been looking for it for the last 10 minutes, but I can't seem to find that reference...And I have to get up from the keyboard now. Anyway, that's my take. --MikeVitale 01:36, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Ding ding ding! You're correct! Common outcomes (while not a policy, nor a rule) show that places are notable simply be existing. Good job! However, the article would require cleanup (placing improperly capitalized "History" into a header, and wiki-linking of years, and town names). Also, the reference given is questionable as a WP:RS, but in my brief search I did find multiple references that probably could be used. (P.S. one of your AfDs has already been speedily deleted as a hoax. Nice catch!) ArielGold 01:47, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Test

[edit]
  • CSD: (Yes or No)
    • No, the title of the page appears to be a typo. Properly, it is Philates Grammicus...Or, more correctly, Marengo grammica according to link.
  • CSD Tag you'd place:
    • None, it does not appear to fit any CSD criteria (even if this were to be considered a hoax instead of a typo (which I originally thought), hoaxes don't qualify for CSD.
  • If no CSD: {{prod}}?
    • Maybe. Aside from the typo'ed name, there's very little to this article at all. Not sure it's worth keeping, especially since there's nothing specifically on any of the other Philates spiders at all on Wikipedia, as far as I can tell.
  • If no CSD: AFD?
    • No
  • Other suggestions:
    • Move the article to its correct spelling (and fix all WhatLinksHere.) Expand the stub. If you can't do it yourself (which I wouldn't be able to do without additional research), perhaps {{prod}} it, as above. --MikeVitale 21:29, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
LOL Dang Mike!~ You're good. I'm going to have to find something harder. I thought using this mis-spelling would throw you since it brought up no google results for me, and Google didn't suggest the correct spelling, lol. Nice job. ArielGold 23:50, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
