East Union was the term used to describe the part of the territory of New Hampshire, United States, that was claimed by the Vermont Republic, from 1781 to 1782, in order to annex it. The claimed area included the counties of Cheshire and Grafton. Vermont announced its claims on 11 April 1781 and gave up the claim on 23 February 1782, with New Hampshire keeping the territory.[1][2]
