Kraków Voivodeship,[a] known as Kraków Metropolitan Voivodeship from 1975 to 1984,[b] was a voivodeship of Polish People's Republic from 1975 to 1989, and of the Third Republic of Poland from 1989 to 1998. Its capital was Kraków.
History[edit]
It was established on 1 July 1975 from the part of the territory of Kraków Voivodeship, additionally incorporating the city of Kraków, which until then acted as a separate administrative unit. 30 July 1984, it was known as the Kraków Metropolitan Voivodeship, and, since then as the Kraków Voivodeship.
