David E. Munz Maire, also known as David M. Night Maire (born 25 March 1989 in Décines-Charpieu, France), is a French-American director, screenwriter and producer best known for his work in the horror genre. He received worldwide acclaim for his 2015 horror short film Chateau Sauvignon: terroir, and is also known for producing several critically acclaimed short films.

Education & Training[edit]

David was born on March 25, 1989 in Décines-Charpieu, a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France. He is the only child to expat parents.

He attended the Copenhagen International School, where he was a bilingual international baccalaureate recipient. Prior to graduating, he trained at the SOCAPA (School of Cinema and Performing Arts) Summer Arts program in New York City.

David earned his B.F.A. in Film & T.V. from New York University: Tisch School of the Arts with a focus on Directing and minors in Psychology and Producing for Film & T.V.[1][2][3][4]

He pursued an M.A. in Screenwriting for Television & Film from Royal Holloway, University of London, as well as an M.P.S. in Directing from the School of Visual Arts under commercial and music video director Bob Giraldi.[1][2][3]
