Name: Andra Smith
I am a junior at Rice University majoring in Health Sciences with a minor in Poverty, Justice and Human Capabilities. I am currently a member of Education Program:Rice University/Human Development in Global and Local Communities, Section 2 (Spring 2014). In Spring 2012, I revised Human subject research as part of United States Education Program/Courses/Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities (Kim Hoang)
If asked to describe myself, I would have to say that passion is what encapsulates my life. Additionally, the passions that I have fuel my interest in making positive imprints on the lives of others. In the past couple of years my interests in social disparities have grown. More specifically, I am motivated towards improving global healthcare in terms of clean water and other sanitation systems. With the opportunities afforded to me, I intend to champion the cause of individuals who have no voice.
