Author Dennis Bunda is a 1986 graduate of Merrillville (Indiana) High School and a 1991 graduate of The Ohio State University. He has a degree in Organizational Communication and Marketing. He also has an education endorsement in the areas of U.S. Government, U.S. History, and World History. Dennis has been an educator as well as a coach for over thirty years at the college, high school, and middle school levels. He has been a presentational speaker for sports coaching clinics as well as for breast cancer awareness. Dennis resides with his family in Northwest Indiana.
Bunda currently works in the CPCSC (Crown Point Community School Corporation) In Northwest Indiana. Bunda was a student assistant for Ohio State from 1998 to 1991. Bunda started working in Columbus South High School in Columbus Ohio in 1991 as a football coach. In 1992 Bunda worked at Valparaiso University (Indiana) as a Defensive back coach. In 1993 he worked at Highland High School (Indiana) as a track and field coach, and in 1994 Bunda got hired at Crown Point High School (Indiana). In 2002-2003 school year Crown Point High School was shut down, and in 2006 it was demolished. In a recent interview, Bunda stated that was "very sad" on the last day of the high school's run, he stated that when he walked out the entrance of the high school, he stood and stared at the school for a long time before getting into his car, and quote "thinking back at all the memories"
In 2020, Bunda decided to write a book about his life story "A Boy's Dream - Ohio State: The Dennis Bunda Story" The book sold hundreds of copies in its first week. Bunda was inspired to write books by his brother in-law. At first he wrote books just for the enjoyment of writing, but he said quote "it's becoming more than that" Bunda is writing a book about his students and how much he appreciates them, he will also include funny classroom moments in the book. The book is estimated to drop in summer 2024.
