Tiffany "Tiffy" Michelle Herrera (born March 19, 1988), better known as iHasCupquake, is an American YouTuber, artist, and vlogger. Initially known for her gaming, her content expanded to include vlogs, animations, and DIY videos.[2] After joining YouTube in 2010, Herrera became popular on the platform for her many Minecraft series and her animation uploads. As of August 2024, her main channel has over 7 million subscribers[note 1] and over 3 billion views.[note 2] Across all major platforms, Herrera's reach spans to a following of nearly 14 million.[note 3]

Herrera is one of the most popular gaming YouTubers on the platform. She was given the Guinness World Records title for Most subscribers for a female games broadcaster on YouTube and Most viewed female games broadcaster on YouTube — featuring in the 2018 Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition publication.[3][‡ 1] iHasCupquake was a finalist in the Gaming category for both the 9th Shorty Awards and the 7th Streamy Awards.[4][5] She also was nominated for Choice Web Star - Gaming at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards.[6]

Herrera has always expressed interest in many forms of entertainment. Her artistic journey includes appearances in film and television, along with musical pursuits. Herrera starred in ABC’s Wipeout[7][‡ 2], made a voice cameo in the Disney animation Ralph Breaks the Internet[8][‡ 3], and released her debut EP Funkin' Sister[‡ 4] based on the game Friday Night Funkin’. Additionally, she was one of two winners for the YouTube Original series Secret Saboteurs[9]. Herrera is also the first woman to join DanTDM’s Shady Oaks SMP and was one of the original organizers and participants of the MC Championship.[10][11] In July 2024, iHasCupquake’s 2017 single “Let’s go Creeping” garnered viral media attention helping Herrera surpass 7 million YouTube subscribers.[12][‡ 5]

Early life and education

Herrera was born March 19, 1988. She is a native of Los Angeles, California. Herrera grew up with a brother who is two years older than her named Anthony Garcia. Her father worked as a pressman while her mother was a stay-at-home mom.[‡ 6] She was a model as a child, making an appearance on the back of the Mattel Barbie Party Time Teresa packaging.[13][‡ 7] Herrera stopped as she felt she was missing too much time with her school friends. Afterwards, she did ballet, swimming, soccer, softball and many other school activities growing up. Unsure of an educational path, Herrera got an internship at Cartoon Network, but she said that an office job "wasn't for her," before being introduced to YouTube. She then went on to graduate from California State University, Long Beach in May 2011 with a bachelor's degree in fine arts.[‡ 6][‡ 8]

Early content making (2010–2013)

Herrera registered her iHasCupquake YouTube channel on August 19, 2010 when she was 22 years old. She started out living with her parents and making videos on her laptop without a desk to work on.[‡ 9] Her initial video series on the channel included Piece of Quake, Quake N Bake, and Flash Friday.[14][15][16] In these series, she explored a variety of topics, ranging from her experiences as a female gamer to baking game-themed treats and playing different browser games every Friday. She also started her first Minecraft series Minecraft with Cupquake that spanned 64 episodes and ended on November 21, 2011.[17] Early in the channel, Herrera also had a series on the Portal (series) which she played with her then-boyfriend Mario.[18][19] In the beginning of Herrera’s channel, there were many Minecraft series and collaborations that captivated her audience. Her engaging gameplay quickly became a fan favorite, establishing her as a prominent figure in the Minecraft community.[20] Also in this period, Herrera appeared on the reality show Wipeout, graduated from university, and became engaged.[‡ 6] She reached 100 thousand subscribers on October 20, 2011.[‡ 10]

Continued channel and career growth (2013–2020)

Throughout 2013, Herrera launched several of her most popular series on her YouTube channel, marking significant milestones in her career, such as reaching 1 million subscribers.[‡ 11] Most notably, she began her Minecraft Oasis series on February 2, 2013, which spanned 186 episodes and concluded on April 13, 2014, amassing over 23.8 million views.[21][22] On June 22, 2014, it was announced that Season 2 of Minecraft Oasis would have an “Enchanted” theme, hence the series name Minecraft Enchanted Oasis. This second series was a collaboration with LDShadowLady, Awhmi (formerly known as Vengelfe), and MittyMoxx.[‡ 12] Another popular series, Husband vs. Wife, featuring Tiffany and her husband Mario Herrera, also known as “Red,” debuted on February 16, 2013. This series showcased the couple competing in various games to see who could win and come out on top.[23] In addition, Tiffany and Mario collaborated on The Sims 3 Ever After series, which premiered on May 18, 2015, and ran for 52 episodes[24] before transitioning to a series about The Sims 4. Tiffany’s channel also gained immense popularity through her animated videos during this time. The top 12 most viewed videos on her channel are animated. These include “Five Nights at Freddy’s Animated Short” (98 million views), “Notice Me Senpai - Yandere Simulator Animated” (63 million views), and “Let’s Go Creeping - FNAF Animated Music Video” (61 million views), among others.[25] On August 13, 2019, embarked on season 3 of the Minecraft Oasis series with Minecraft Oasis Awakening.[‡ 13]

Beyond her YouTube channel, Herrera has been involved in various outside adventures. She made special appearances in YouTube Rewind videos from 2015 to 2017[26][27][28] and took part in the MC Championship during 2019.[11] As a voice actress, Herrera lent her voice to characters in Pixelmon Lapis: Dwellia Adventures! (2014), Counterspell (a Machinima, Inc series) (2014), and had a voice cameo in Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018).[8][29][30] Furthermore, she was featured in the Guinness World Records 2018: Gamer’s Edition for having the most subscribed and most viewed female games broadcaster on YouTube. Herrera’s achievements have been recognized with nominations for the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, the 9th Shorty Awards, and the 7th Streamy Awards.[3][4][5][6]

Creative evolution and motherhood (2020–present)

Since 2020, Tiffany Herrera has continued to evolve creatively. That same year, in November, Herrera made her authorial debut with the Magical World of iHasCupquake: A Coloring Adventure Through Sweets, Magic, and Gaming..[31] During the quarantine period, she often filled her channel with Animal Crossing: New Horizons gameplay[32], providing a sense of community and escapism from the COVID-19 pandemic. Tiffany also explored her artistic side by creating a series of zodiac sign paintings, showcasing her interests beyond gaming. On September 27, 2021, she launched the Tiffy Tries series, where she delved into crafting and hands-on projects.[33][34] Her channel saw significant growth, surpassing 7 million subscribers on July 13, 2024[‡ 14], and quickly reaching 7.06 million where it stands now.

Herrera became the first female member of DanTDM’s Shady Oaks SMP server, uploading her first video about it on February 6, 2021 and has often teamed up with Minecraft themselves.[10][35][36] She released her debut EP Funkin’ Sister on June 30, 2023. Simultaneously, in collaboration with Weebl, she ventured into game development with the release of the iHasCupquake FnF Mod (of Friday Night Funkin’).[‡ 4] As of August 2024, Herrera’s music has garnered over 35 million streams on Spotify. She currently has 370 thousand monthly listeners and over 120 thousand followers on the platform.[37]

Herrera embraced motherhood with the birth of her son on June 19, 2022.[‡ 15] She has since started her Tiffymama channel to help new parents out with DIY toddler activities that can help with childhood development. Tiffany has also been active on her TiffyQuake channel, sharing life content and insights into her parenting journey with her husband.[38][39]

Herrera has used her platform to spread positivity and inspire her audience to make the world a better place. She often emphasizes kindness, mental health awareness, and self-care in her content. Herrera states that she hopes to inspire and lead those to the best version of themselves.[40] Like many social media creators, Tiffany has participated in charity livestreams, where she raises funds for various causes. Throughout 2016, iHasCupquake raised $48,126 for Extra Life, a fundraiser benefiting Children’s Hospitals.[‡ 16] In August of 2018, she fundraised nearly $1000 for the GameChanger Charity which gives kids, families, and caregivers relief and normalcy during their hospital stay by providing free access to the latest video games, movies, virtual reality and other forms of distraction therapy.[41] In 2020, Tiffany Herrera raised money to combat COVID-19, donated masks to fight the pandemic, supported social justice initiatives, and raised funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.[42][‡ 17][‡ 18][‡ 19] She has also given awareness to many small and minority-owned businesses. In July 2024, she was featured in the Los Angeles Times for noting some of the best Latino-owned businesses in Los Angeles.[43]

In 2022, she won Secret Saboteurs with fellow YouTuber Kristopher London and won $80,000 for charity. From her Kitty Powers' Matchmaker series, Herrera has collaborated numerous times with the game’s creator, drag queen Kitty Powers, and continues to support equality.[9][44]

Personal life

Herrera has been married to Mario Herrera (Redb15) for 12 years, who frequently appears alongside her in videos. They have two cats, Link and Navi, and a dog named Amaya. Previously, Herrera had a dog named Ruby for 15 years until Ruby’s passing on June 4, 2021.[‡ 6][‡ 20] On December 16, 2021, she officially announced on her channel she was expecting her first child. On July 16, 2022, both Herrera and her husband introduced the world to their baby boy, Leo, on their collaborative channel, Mario and Tiffy.[‡ 21][‡ 22]
