Miss Representation's cast included both celebrities and political members as actors. This included people such as Hillary Clinton, Ellen Degeneres, Dolly Parton, Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Palin, Christina Aguilera Lisa Ling, Glenn Beck, and more.[1] The film featured in various film festivals in the United States and the documentary's filming took place in San Francisco and Los Angeles California. [2] The movie brought along a lot of positive movement and encourages those who viewed the film to take the pledge against gender misrepresentations using hashtags like #RepresentHer and #DisruptTheNarrative.[3][4] Miss Representation was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize in 2011 and won the WFCC award for Best Theatrically Unreleased Movie by or About Women.[5]
