I am a student currently attending Olympic College. My main interest is with computers, mainly java coding. I hope to either be a coder or IT. I mainly spend my time playing video games which are mainly first person shooters. Anything horror related is my passion, such as books, games, and movies.

Articles that i mainly interested improving are ones that have to do with a gaming industry, as i mainly devote my time to keeping up with new electronics or games they develop. Another type of article that i may help with are those that are relating to horror elements such as Authors and Locations of unfortunate events. As i can not help but wonder the history of these places that these movies are based off of or trying to find what might have caused an author to adopt the writing style they have.

Article Critique[edit]

Video game critiques are highly regarded as important as gamers need to know what kind of experience they are getting before they put upwards of sixty dollars down on a game that may have been over hyped or lied about. Choosing reliable reviews are hard to find as many critiques history is hard to find, especially if they have a Wikipedia article that is outdated and incomplete. I visited the GameSpot article on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: citations, age, and completeness.

When the articles citations have as many problems as the ones on the GameSpot article, it’s hard to be reliable. About half of the links can not find the page, resulting in a 404 error. Of the remaining half, about a third of them are from GameSpot’s own website. The dead links either need to be found or need information from a non dead source. The course information from GameSpot’s website need to be found on others for verification on the reliability of the information. The problems with the citations are sadly not the biggest issue with this article.

The only new changes to the GameSpot article seems to either be vandalism or minor edits. The newest source was added in 2014, while a majority of them were added in 2006. This article is very old and needs new information. This article is effectively outdated and should not be viewed as anywhere near reliable until it is brought up to date. The Alexa rank is two years old and has not been updated since then.

The article is anything but complete. There is little to no information about the subtopics. There needs to be more information about this GTA V controversy topic. On the topic of the Gerstmann dismissal, it seems to make the owners of GameSpot jerks, maybe it needs a little something on the defense side for GameSpot.

Overall this article is in dire need of revamping. Since this article is in such bad shape, it may be imperative to check for these same errors in other video game journalists Wiki Pages.
