BALEGENI [Balegeni] is a mixed group of people living on the slopes of Mt.Elgon in East Africa. While the majority of this community are resident on the Ugandan side, many more are now spread over in East Africa, significantly in Kenya and globally due to the recent social-economic and cultural dynamism.BULEGENI is the area the community has inhabited since their last and major settlement. The Balegeni history is synonymous with any such period of the building of communities within the region. the community is now enclosed within the Bulambuli District of Uganda, as one of the most recently created districts.Balegeni (talk) 09:14, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[1] The Balegeni have seen close to five(5) shiftings in their geographical disposition, most of these shifts being an attempt to fizzle them out as a people by the most dominant Bagishu and also called Bamasaba.[2]

The Balegeni are social people; they are warm and welcoming; they are equally accommodative. Known to house and entertain any visitor from all other aisles of life; they have never shown any particular preference to whom they should and should not associate with and have played very respectable adaptations towards diverse leadership changes. Their hope has been towards a collective and participatory mainstream approach to solving problems in an amicable dispensation.Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page). Without prejudice, they have played such cross-cultural understanding with such expectations that others should equally emulate.Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).
