The T.R. Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Private Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club (BJK) Museum is situated at the BJK nönü Stadium in Beşiktaş, one of Istanbul's distinctive neighborhoods and one of the world's most significant cultural hubs that has served as the center of numerous civilizations' capitals. The museum is close to Dolmabahçe Palace and is easily accessible by both land and sea. On 11.11.2001, it was established as a sports museum thanks to the support of BJK General Assembly members, and on June 28, 2007, it was given the title of "Turkey's first private sports museum" by the Ministry of Culture.

BJK İnönü Stadium, where the museum is located, was opened on 19 May 1947. It is a unique stadium with a unique location and the first match in BJK İnönü Stadium, was played between Beşiktaş JK-Sweden AIK teams. The first and only goal of the match in İnönü Stadium was scored by Süleyman Seba, the honorable football player of the time, who was the Honorary President of the Club, who served as the Club President for 16 years. Although renovation works have been carried out in the stadium at various times, the gate of Honor and the exterior overlooking the Bosphorus are preserved in their original form. Due to these features and transportation facilities, the Museum is located inside the stadium. BJK İnönü Stadium is a great place for Istanbul in many aspects, as it hosts not only the matches of the Beşiktaş team, but also many national and international matches, being a special stadium where sports fans must watch a match regardless of which club they are, and a mass meeting point where celebrations are held on national holidays. It has become a landmark (urban sign, reference, monument).

The Museum is open everyday except mondays and match days between 10:00-17:00 and the enterace fee is 75 lira for visitors. [2] The museum, has an exhibition area of 250 square meters, 420 historical documents and objects that shed light on the history of Turkish sports such as the establishment registration certificate of the Club, awards such as cups and plaques, Club badges from past to present, historical photographs, original boots and jerseys of legendary athletes are exhibited. Except this, objects belonging to non-football branches have been classified and recorded in the warehouse area of 370 square meters and are meticulously preserved to be exhibited at the end of the renovation and expansion projects of the Museum. Despite the invaluable moral value of the stadium due to its historic nature, 35,000 euros were spent on the exhibition space at its opening. 7,200 people in the 2008-2009 period visited, the museum also ensure close relations with local primary and secondary schools and is visited by students of all levels thanks to the school trips organized.
