Description of my contribution[edit]

I am a first year student of the Master's degree course Planning and Management of Tourism Systems, at the Department of Foreign Languages, Literature and Culture of the University of Bergamo. I am contributing to some articles about my territory on Wikipedia for the exam of Heritage Studies and ICT (a.y. 2020/2021), related to the project https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:GLAM/UNIBG/Heritage_studies_and_ICT.

My contribution has started by reading the FAQ inside the page of our project, which were based on what we have learned during Heritage and ICT lectures. I have decided to add new information in both languages, Italian and English, since English is considered to be a “Lingua Franca”, its presence is really important.

Both the Italian and English Wikipedia pages related to my topics lacked of some interesting info and so I started searching information through official pages. Then I reworked what I have found, choosing the useful information and adding them in the Wikipedia pages of both languages. I have also added a photograph taken by me.

First of all I registered in Wikipedia (please find my user page here: User: Beatrice_Merzi ), so that every time I login in I open my profile. I did a short introduction of myself saying who I am and which course of study I am attending. So, I started adding the information by clicking on edit. I have used the source VisualEditor, starting by reading the guide, with all the limitations.

Here below I list my contribution:

- Translation and adding (HERITAGE): DARFO BOARIO TERME (It's my city). Please find available the link to the improved article here: Darfo Boario Terme. I added three sections: Geography, Origins of the Name, Sights. In the section Sights, is possible to find information about both HERITAGE (Terme di Boario) and MONUMENT (The Dome). Of course (for reasons of copyright) I wrote the text with my own words. I also added a photograph taken by me of the Dome, in order to make the article's structure more exhaustive. Please find here the images I have added: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/70/Cupola_delle_Terme_di_Boario.jpg/220px-Cupola_delle_Terme_di_Boario.jpg. Further, I've provided some references (after having verified their accuracy), here the list:

- Adding (MONUMENT): SANTA MARIA DELLA NEVE. Please find available the link to the improved article here: Santa Maria della Neve, Pisogne. Also in this article I added new sections: History, Church interior, with contents translated from an interesting website in Italian, after having checked the accuracy of the already existing information. Of course, for reasons of copyright, I have reworked the information in my own words. I also added a photograph taken by me of the Dome, in order to make the article's structure more exhaustive. Please find here the images I have added: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/74/Chiesa_Santa_Maria_della_Neve_%28Pisogne%29.jpg/220px-Chiesa_Santa_Maria_della_Neve_%28Pisogne%29.jpg. At the end I added a comment in the discussion page (talk) of all my articles to let the community know my contribution.

If you have doubts, do not hesitate to contact me. I am trying to do my best and available for questions and to be explained from who is more use to Wikipedia than me.
