Bekim! (Bekim Bytyqi) also known as bekimmusic is a Contemporary R&B musician born and raised in Germany.
Bekim! has worked with a number of musicians during his career. The songs "So Sorry" with M'lissa and "By My Side" featuring Ryan Wilson are two examples of group efforts.[1]
Background[edit]
Born and raised in Germany, Producer and songwriter Bekim! discovered his love for 50s Rockabilly, Electropop and Pop R&B music early on. The artists who have the greatest influence on his current work include Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Shakin' Stevens and Bill Haley. Later, he fell in love with Hip Hop. He bought records and dreamed of making music himself one day.
During his school days he was already writing rap lyrics and loved to make bootlegs from cassettes. Immediately after he finished school, he set up a small recording studio and taught himself harmony and how to play the keyboard. That was in 1989. Even then he was producing his first tracks himself.
He has worked on countless projects as a composer, songwriter, producer, arranger and engineer. Some more well known projects include 2-BPM, Couche-Tard, KMS, 2 Deep, El Toro and Real 7, to name a few.
It was only a matter of time before he would start releasing his very melodic music influenced by 1990s and 2000s R&B and pop as his own project: Bekim!
Bekim! acts as the producer and author. He then works with a wide variety of singers from all around the world. Bekim! curates the playlist Sonic Caffeine. Born to Kosovo Albanian parents in 1970.[2]
