From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit]

I would like to caution you against adding much more material to [[{{{1}}}]]. I've compacted the article somewhat and removed a few weasel words to avoid having to tag this article as an advertisment (which may cause it to be deleted). Definately read WP:AUTO first if you wish to continue working on this article yourself.

I also made some stylistic changes to make the article conform to the manual of style as part of my regular Wikipedia editing; nothing to worry about if you're new at this and make mistakes in that regard. Anyways, if you have any questions about this message feel free to drop me a note on my talk page.

Notes on this template

[edit]

Template usage

[edit]
  • Syntax:
{{subst:BigNate37/TM/Un-advertised|1=Article name}}
Where Article name is the name of the article that the user in question created and you edited.
  • Use where a new account creates an obvious advertisment page.
    • For example: User:Supercorp creates an article called Supercorp Inc. as the user's first contribution, which reads like an advertisement.
  • Put this template at the bottom of the user's talk page. Do not create a new section for it as it comes with its own level 2 heading.
  • Subst this template.
  • Sign (with four tildes) as with other user talk namespace warnings.

Motivation

[edit]

This template was created as a result of a message I left for a user encouraging them not to advertise through Wikipedia. I find that this encouragement to help in the preservation of their article is much more effective at elminating advertising than if I were to apply {{advert}} and {{prod}} tags and leave a colder user talk warning instead.
