The Citadel–College of Charleston rivalry is an American college sports rivalry existing between The Citadel Bulldogs teams of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and the College of Charleston Cougars teams of College of Charleston.
Separated by just a few miles on the downtown peninsula of Charleston, South Carolina, the two schools have squared off athletically since 1906, when football teams from the two schools squared off for the first time. While College of Charleston no longer sponsors football, matchups in baseball and basketball have taken on added importance.
With the Cougars recent departure from the Southern Conference to join the Colonial Athletic Association, the two schools continue to meet as non-conference rivals.[1][2][3][4]
