'Billy 'Thunder' Mason' (born in Fairborn, Ohio) is an American drummer who is was a member of Tim McGraw's touring band, The Dancehall Doctors. He has toured with Tobin Sprout, Bill Anderson, Paulette Carlson, Aaron Tippin, Jo-El Sonnier, Faith Hill and many more. Mason has also trained with drummer Charlie Adams. His start was in a local band called Bros. Rock. One of the band's songs, "Sharing the World", was featured on STS-123 as the wake up call for pilot Gregory Johnson, the brother of the band's guitarist and lead singer, Gary Johnson.

In May 2012, Mason was featured on the premier episode of the auction-themed television program Final Offer on Discovery Channel. Mason was seen discussing and selling three car hoods from NASCAR vehicles that had been autographed by the car's famous drivers, including Tony Stewart and Bobby Labonte. Mason stated he had intended to use the proceeds to open up a pizza parlor.

Mason was a part of the touring band "The Dancehall Doctors" from 1994-2011 when McGraw let the whole band go after the Emotional Traffic Tour. Mason has played on McGraw's 7 most successful albums of his career including the title album, Tim McGraw & The Dancehall Doctors album that sparked 4 number 1 hits, and through the largest single of McGraw's career, "Live Like You Were Dying" which won 2 Grammy's. Mason's drumming style is very versatile from country, pop, r&b, soul, to Dixie Land and Big Band.

Since 2011, Mason has been heavy involved in studio work and movies. Mason was in "The List" as a surgeon and in 2016 filmed "The Submission" featuring Eric Roberts that is set to release early 2018. Mason has also started an AntiBullying campaign where he speaks at schools, colleges, churches, businesses to spread his message of bullying and overcoming it through Faith. In early 2017, Mason bought the trademark name to 'THE DANCEHALL DOCTORS', the famous band he was such a huge part of for nearly 18 years to form a tribute show like no other has ever been done before.
