Senator Highway[edit]
Senator Highway is a 37 mile in length, two lane, historic mostly paved road from downtown Prescott, Arizona starting at Highway 69 on Gurley street heading south is (Senator Highway) runs through a historic community winding its way though the tall pines, up to an almost forgotten mining town called Crown King, Arizona which was first called Bradshaw City, named after some brothers whom traveled from California, on the search to strike it rich searching for gold in the start of the Arizona Gold Rush. Allow plenty of time from start to finish, plan on a 2-4 hour one way trip on Senator Highway, once you reach the end of the road, you will have to turn around and travel back down the way you came, for this rugged road does not allow for normal traffic to pass any further over the mountain, there are no stores or gas stations on Senator Highway. In the early days Senator Highway was accessed by some of the first stage coaches, rustlers and settlers, making their way to and from the old mining towns up the mountain.
Stops along the way[edit]
There are several other historical stops along the way, although there is not a store or gas station, so advise to stop before you hit the road.
Wildlife[edit]
You may see many forms of wildlife on the drive, keep a look out for deer crossing the road along the way.
