The article on the Spanish Armada is a well rounded because of the ranges it covers. The article includes different phases of the battle the causation and result of the battle, and the technological developments that can be attributed to the event. All of these aid in getting a better understanding of this historical event as a whole. The only improvementI can suggest is a map that illustrates the Armada's journey across the channel.

Here are the articles I have selected:

Lucrezia Borgia

Cesare Borgia

Pope Pius IV

Pope Pius V

Hey It's Thomas from HIST 442

I have assigned myself the Lucrezia Borgia article.

The focus of this article will be in Gender Politics. The emphasis will be on Lucrezia's hypergamy and how she could have been possibly manipulated or participated in this practice. This will aim to see how she could have used her sexuality to gain favor, which appears to be by design. This section will include some ideas of Lucrezia and how she shares similarities with Elizabeth; such as education in early upbringing, their renowned beauty, social awareness, control over secondary parties, infamous parental figures, and others.

Lucrezia Borgia's

Education

Lucrezia Borgia's education was entrusted to Adriana Orsini de Milan, a close confidant of Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia (Pope Alexander VI) during her early life. Her education would primarily take place in the Piazza Pizzo de Merlo, an adjacent building next to her fathers home.

Lucrezia Borgia's education is common for a woman of her social stature, but uncommon someone of her gender. Unlike educated women of her time, hers came from within the sphere of intellectuals in court and close relatives. For most women who wanted to be educated, convents were the primary source for knowledge. Her upbringing would differentiate to others to due to the inclusion of humanities, which the Catholic Church at the time considered using detrimental to the foundations of piety and obedience.

This education would be successful in teaching Lucrezia; Spanish, Catalan, Italian, French, and some dominance of Latin and Greek. She would also become proficient in the lute, poetry, and oration. The biggest testament is her capibility in admismistration, as later on in life she would take care of Vatican corrspondance and governance of Ferrara.
